Dead Vibrations burst onto the booming Stockholm music scene in April of 2015. Crossing the boundaries between Shoegaze, Neo-Psychedelia and Rock 'n' Roll, their angst-ridden guitars, thundering drums, and distorted bass take the classic reverb-drenched sound to a new dimension. For such a newborn band, DV have wasted no time making their mark. Their first single and video for 'Reflections' immediately made waves internationally garnering the attention of celebrated gigs and festivals including Copenhagen Psych Fest, ultimately getting them a record deal with the recently launched and much hyped record label Echo Drug Recordings. These two new songs were released on a 7" vinyl single, as well as digitally, on Lazy Octopus Records out of Stockholm, Sweden.
Already being a fan of the new band, I was incredibly excited to be able to develop their branding and create their debut EP cover art, design and vinyl concepts. The debut EP entitled "Reflections" was released on vinyl and digitally on Echo Drug Recordings. The video for their first single, also called "Reflections," was shot in black and white, and featured a strobe light effect throughout the video. Playing off the strobe effect and their hypnotizing sound, I created the op-art design below.
Pressing information:
All 300 copies of the band's debut record sold out in a mere couple hours. The limited edition vinyl breaks down as follows:
• 50 / black and white splatter vinyl copies
• 100 / grey marble vinyl copies
• 150 / white vinyl copies
• 100 / clear vinyl tour edition only copies
